                  *********************************************

Eli is a ~3 year old male, long haired, Chihuahua. He weighs 7.5#.  He was rescued off the highway after his owners moved and left him. He has transitioned into his foster family beautifully.  His foster mom says, “He is a snuggle bug and if you are on the couch or laying in bed, he must be next to you. He gets along with dogs, cats, and loves kids!! His only issue is he doesn't like when the dogs are pushy and get in his face. We also feed all our dogs separately to avoid any conflicts. He is not afraid to help himself to your dinner. He is a little bit of a food hound and has the sad puppy eyes mastered!  He spent Thanksgiving in a house with 6 kids aged 12-4 and handled it like a champ. He didn't mind being toted around and loved on. He is a fairly quiet boy. He has only barked when someone comes in the house, but stops when corrected. He is house broken, mostly, but will go if not let out. He spends the day in a crate, but the night out in the house, because he likes to sleep in the bed with us! He has never chewed inappropriately and has never shown resource guarding towards people. He loves to be with his people and will follow you around the house and sit in your lap in the car. He walks perfectly on a leash and would be great for any family. He would be fine as a house dog to an elderly person or a member of an active young family. I think he would also be great as a therapy dog if his new owner chooses to pursue that training.” Please email us at [email protected] to apply to bring this little guy home!

Eli has been neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and given a proheart injection that will protect him from heartworms until May 2018.

All of our dogs are spayed/ neutered before adoption. Adult dogs have had their core vaccines---parvo, distemper, bordatella, and rabies, All dogs are tested and are heartworm negative.  In addition they have been de-wormed and kept on heartworm prevention and flea prevention while in foster care. Most dogs come with a micr-chip already implanted. Adoption fees range from 235.00- 275.00 depending on the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not even cover the cost of all of the vetting we have done for a dog.   In addition, some of our dogs are fostered in the South and come up once adopted---There is an additional transport fee for these dogs.  Please contact the person listed in the bio for more information on a particular dog. We are very careful in placing our dogs--and look for the best home for each dog--All of our dogs are fostered in private homes, with fosters who get to know the dogs and know the types of home that would be best for each dog. Thank you for considering a rescued pet and we look forward to helping you find a great dog match--
